Pytor Pereksta
This picture was mailed to my grandmother from her niece in Czechoslovakia in the late 1950s. The photo is labeled Pytor Pereksta and is believed to be my grandmother's brother.

What a great photo! I love the background, props and frame, too. Any idea of the age of the photo?
ReplyDeleteGreat photo!!!
ReplyDeleteDontcha just love the frames on these old photos? I have several with amazingly beautiful, flowing artistry around the edges. The backgrounds are just great! Grandma's brother looks very tired -- like he works very hard.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I have been too influenced by recent articles I read by footnotemaven on her Shades of the Departed website, but, please forgive me, is he alive in this photo?
ReplyDeleteYou know, Margel, I just don't know. I have a picture of my great-grandmother that I am fairly sure was done after her death. I'm iffy on this one. IF this is my great-uncle, then no, because he lived to be an elderly man. If this is another Pytor Pereksta, then maybe.
